Interactive mobile audio guide of The Natural History Museum of Rijeka is
an application that allows museum visitors to use their mobile devices to
independently view and explore museum exhibits, exhibitions and objects
and enables each visitor to independently explore the museum by
choosing targeted guided tour through the exhibitions in a personalized
user experience.
All the content of the application was prepared by the staff of the Natural
History Museum of Rijeka, so there is a text about each part of the
exhibition and the objects in them. For each display case and individual
items, there is also an audio guide that runs within the app.
Museum objects, showcases and exhibits would are marked with non-
contact NFC technology and QR code to make it easier to access
information and avoid physically touching objects.
The application also has the ability to send notifications to visitors about
new settings, exhibitions, changes in opening hours, events and all other
relevant information. Visitors would receive notifications on their mobile
phone in the form of a notification, and within the app they would have an
overview of all notifications.
The application can be used at two locations of the Natural History
Museum of Rijeka (Rijeka, Brod na Kupi) and at external temporary
exhibitions organized by the museum.
